No one told us that you want to avoid Shwedagon during the day because it is way too hot. We didn't stay too long because we couldn't shake our self-appointed guide, the bottoms of our feet were burning even in the shade, and although it was magnificent, it was all the glitz and glamour we'd seen in other pagodas all smashed together into one bigger, better, pagoda.
